Six Carillon Pieces by Jan van Dijk
Jan van Dijk (1918 – 2016) was a teacher at the Brabant Conservatory since 1955 and played an active role in Tilburg’s cultural life. From 1974 onwards, he was chairman of the carillon committee for many years and an enthusiastic advocate of the carillon as the “bekroning van het stadsgewoel”. The Tilburg context, with its special relationship between composer and carillonneur, played an important role in the creation of Jan van Dijk’s versatile carillon oeuvre. The Jan van Dijk Foundation – Musical Works now offers this collection of six carillon pieces as a tribute, with a foreword by Carl Van Eyndhoven and live recordings of these pieces, made by Carl, included in the collection.

“Compositions for the Carillon”
Tilburg Carillon Book 2025
Nineteen Tilburg composers were commissioned by the Friends of the Tilburg Carillon Foundation to write new compositions especially for the Tilburg carillon. The book is a model of diversity and is dedicated to Annemiek Reijnders, without whom “Compositions for the Carillon 2025” would not have been possible.
The book was published by Edition Pors.

TILBURG CARILLON BOOK I
For my retirement as carillonneur of the city of Tilburg (NL) in 2026, I selected fourteen arrangements that I have made since 1987 and compiled them in the Tilburg Carillon Book I. These arrangements reflect the great diversity of the carillon repertoire of the past five centuries: from Palestrina to Bartók.
I hope that fellow carillonneurs and listeners will enjoy them!
